The Riverside Chan Meditation Group (www.riversidechan.org) holds a weekly lecture/sitting meditation class at the First Congregational Church at 3504 Mission Inn Ave, Riverside CA 92501.

The entrance is on the South corner of the church on Lemon Street. As Lemon St. is one-way, you might have to turn left on Lime and drive around when coming from the freeway.

You are very welcome to drop in on a class to see if we meet your needs. Join us if you are interested in establishing your meditation/dharma practice, deepening your practice or if you are interested in understanding Buddha Dharma.

Our aspirations:
• To use every situation in daily life as an opportunity for spiritual practice
• To uplift the character of humanity
• To build a pure land on earth
Class consists of a Dharma lecture in the Chan (Japanese: Zen) tradition, a short break then approximately 30 minutes of sitting meditation. Our teacher, Gilbert Gutierrez, is one of five lay practitioners who have received Dharma transmission from Venerable Master Sheng Yen of Dharma Drum Mountain.
We have cushions and mats, but you may bring your own if you prefer. Chairs will be available if you prefer not to sit on the floor. Please bring a large towel or a small blanket for your legs.
We operate on a donation basis. The recommended donation after your first class is $10. Donations are collected discretely and you can donate less if $10 is not affordable. We value your presence even if you are not able to make a donation.
