					Tomorrow, September 13th, the Board of County Commissioners will hold the first of two public hearings to increase the aggregate property tax millage rate from 6.21 to 7.24 mils. This is a 16.5% increase over last year's rate, which means if you own a property worth $100,000 your taxes will increase from $621 to $724.
					
					We are asking everyone who thinks local government should be forced to live within its means like the rest of us join us for a formal protest at the Government Center at 4:30 pm on Tuesday, immediately prior to the meeting. Please bring your family, friends and signs so we make it clear the rank and file taxpayers are tired of the spending.
					
					I know everyone is busy trying to make ends meet, but I have been informed the county employees and unions will be out in full force, so I implore you to take the time to attend this meeting and make your voice heard, otherwise the newspaper and Commission will again succeed in perpetrating the myth that everyone wants their taxes raised.
