What is your hiking experience? (e.g. how long have you been hiking, how often do you get out , where are some of your favorite places, etc.)

This summer, I summited nine 4,000-footers in the Whites, and have another one planned in November. Only 38 more to go!

What type of hikes do you like best? (e.g. day hikes, overnight backpacks, hikes that may involve off-trail "bushwhacking", etc.)

Day hikes.

What are your hiking goals? (e.g. just like hiking, enjoy being outdoors, looking to finish one of the "lists", etc.)

Really, the goal is just to be outside, get the exercise, and enjoy nature - though I confess I am rather enjoying notching my belt with 4,000-footers.

What is the most strenuous/difficult hike that you have done? What made it so tough?

A recent 15-mile day hike summiting two 4,000-footers (Mt. Whiteface and Mt. Passaconaway) was particularly tough because of the pace, which was practically jogging at times. I confess, I paused frequently to enjoy the scenery.

Do you have any outdoor leadership experience? Would you be interested in organizing and leading your own events with the Random Hikers??

Maybe in the future.

Introduction

I hiked a lot in my 20s and 30s, but with a full-time job and two kids, the hiking fell off. I recently joined the AMC and found Meetup. Looking forward to getting out there!
