What is your hiking experience? (e.g. how long have you been hiking, how often do you get out , where are some of your favorite places, etc.)

Above treeline in the White Mountains is my favorite place to be- the long expanse on the presidentials. I try to hike most weekends in the late spring, summer and fall. I've been hiking for over 15 years and have hiked all of the NE 4000 footers. I've also hiked in Western US, Nepal, the Alps, and South America.

What type of hikes do you like best? (e.g. day hikes, overnight backpacks, hikes that may involve off-trail "bushwhacking", etc.)

I like day hikes the best- I don't mind long days out.

What are your hiking goals? (e.g. just like hiking, enjoy being outdoors, looking to finish one of the "lists", etc.)

Since I finished the NE 67 4K's I am looking to plan trips to National Parks where I haven't been. Love hiking and being outdoors.

What is the most strenuous/difficult hike that you have done? What made it so tough?

Nepal- almost 17,000 feet- the altitude made it difficult. Tour du Monte Rosa- a 14 day backpace in the Swiss and Italian Alps covering 90 miles with long days and lots of elevation gain every day (high point about 11,000 feet)

Do you have any outdoor leadership experience? Would you be interested in organizing and leading your own events with the Random Hikers??

Yes, I lead for 2 other groups (AMC and Subsig), but for now I enjoy being a participant in other groups.

Hi, I love to run and hike and share the experience with others. I also lead hikes for the AMC, mostly up in the Whites.

What Marlene is saying about this Meetup Group

My first hike with this group and I definitely will look for future hikes with them.
