Hacker Space: Arduino & Beagle Bone Black

  • Apr 8, 2014 · 6:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

Bring your Arduino or Beagle Bone Black to Robotics Club. This will not be a structured meeting. Bring your laptop, enthusiasm, and either work on your project or check out what other people are doing.

For those of whom signed up for Robolink's beta testing, we will have couple robots ready for you to play around.

The main door of the building closes at 6:15pm, if you come after that time, please call Hansol at[masked]

Wish we had more electronics people. Thanks to Matt for helping out! Also wish we could have helped get that Mac working with the Arduino.

There are some regular Mac Users and Electronics people who didn't show up for this particular event. I am sure they will come for other meetings :)

Will try to make it tonight, tough schedule today. If not, happy hacking!

On the subject of Arduinos, I've just written this lesson guide for an Intro to Arduino featuring the $8 Adafruit "Trinket" Arduo-clone. Any feedback on it would be greatly appreciated.

If you want to give me a Trinket, I'd give your presentation a try and give you feedback. I have a perfect job for it that I'm currently using a MegaADK ($80) for!

Thanks for the offer Gary, but I only have 1 myself. They are $8 at Adafruit.com if you want to try one.

Would it be ok to ask about a hack that is not directly related to Beagle Bone Black / Arduino but is related to robotics? If not, please delete this comment.

I'm working on Controlling a Servo from the audio jack via a web app
    http://techref.massmind.org/techref/io/servo/wav.htm
Web apps have a lot of benefits (e.g. can be run on a SmartPhone without an internet connection, very cross platform)

The problem I'm having is with the electronics part. I've tried this circuit:
    http://www.gluemotor.com/how-to-make
and the servo is moving, but not very well or reliably. Someone with a 'scope and experience in building a simple transistor amp could probably get it working starting from this page:
    http://techref.massmind.org/techref/io/servo/html4audiopwm.html

    Anyone care to help?
