Outdoor climbing this year is not over YET!
The weather is looking cold (at/below freezing at night!) but clear in Vantage, WA so we're looking to do a small trip this weekend for those who can't make it all the way down to Oregon. Exact climbing location is up for debate but we're thinking about either Feathers or the Sunshine Wall. Maybe both :)
Jeff Carlson and myself (Neil Kupras) are planning on driving down Saturday evening around 5:30 PM, camping for the night, climbing all day Sunday and then driving back Sunday night. Jeff has the necessary climbing gear (rope, quick draws, etc.) for leading some sport climbs, but he doesn't have a much gear to share. If you have any extra gear to bring along please do so! We don't want to have 8 people using/waiting on one rope setup. Also please bring your own harness as we don't have extras.
We'll probably be taking on routes from 5.7 - 5.10
I'll be departing from the downtown area with Jeff and 2 others around 5:30 PM. We aim to make it there by 8pm, camp for the night, climb all day Sunday and drive back Sunday evening.
We'll be staying in the main parking/camping area that is south of the Feathers. I'm driving a white 4-door sedan (Kia Forte) so you can try to find us that way.
If you're free this weekend and interested in going, please RSVP ASAP! We can gauge who wants to go, who has gear, and can then organize rides if needed.
**If you're driving, you will need a Discover Pass for your vehicle.**
Climbing is a dangerous sport. This event will not be supervised by professional climbing instructors, it is simply a friendly meetup/weekend trip. Everybody is attending and/or climbing at their own risk. We accept no responsibility for injury or death.
