South Austin RPG Find-a-Game

Want to play an RPG but can't find a game in South Austin? Have a funky schedule that doesn't allow for a weekly group? Maybe you're a GM with the most brilliant campaign idea ever with a less popular system and just can't find players.

Well after replying to an email in the greater Austin RPG meetup group, I realized I fell into one of those categories and it was suggested I do something about it.

This meet-up will be only once a month but allow players and GMs to get together in south Austin to sit and discuss games and maybe find a group that fits your play style or busy schedule. By having it once a month, you won't feel like you are 'missing out' as you see weekly games come and go in the meet-up schedule. I'm willing to bet there is a game group out there that wants to play the same game as you, with a schedule you can work out together.

If that sounds about right, this meet is for you. Let's gather at Whose Turn Is It? Games once a month, talk some games. Who knows: maybe you can start right then and there. To make it easier for you, I will bring two sheets of paper. One for players and one for GMs. All you have to do is put your name on one, what you want to play/run, and a little while into the meeting, we'll see what can be made of it. I will schedule this out for a total of 4 meetings, once a month, to give it a try. If people like it, we'll keep it going and maybe even use the meeting to run some impromptu games if anyone is interested.

A+ initiative, I've been hoping for something like this. College means I have an odd, yet ample range of available hours. In case it helps get someone out there, allow me to say: I'm a new GM hoping to run one or more of the following: Risus, Only War/other 40K RPGs, Adeptus Evangelion, FATE Core, Planescape, Illuminati University, and/or Dungeon World. I'd be happy to play, too, of course, but I suspect GMs are in higher demand. Hope to see a lot of people there!
