Event summaries from the past week

Hello Ron Paul Supporters in NYC,

The past seven days have been busy! We?re making an impact in New York and New Hampshire. Read summaries of recent events below.

They say life comes down to a few moments. Well, history comes down to a few moments as well, and you are living in one of them. We have an outstanding opportunity ? right now ? to stop attacks on our civil liberties and restore a free republic, where people are allowed to make their own decisions about their own lives.

Ron Paul is the captain. We are the team. New York and New Hampshire is our playing field. Let?s get to work. Sign up for an event.

"It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brushfires in people's minds." ? Sam Adams

Penn Station Commuter Outreach ? Dec 3
Hundreds or thousands of pedestrians walked through a group of 15 Ron Paul supporters standing on both sides of the sidewalk, holding up signs and a banner, giving out slim jims and yelling pro-Ron Paul statements. The Penn Station location (on 34th) is excellent. This was an outstanding outreach event. We really made an impact by having so many people in one spot.

Trip to New Hampshire ? Nov 30 to Dec 2
New Hampshire Canvassing was fun and efficient. We arrived at Manchester around 1am and began canvassing at 10:15am Saturday after a short briefing by the Manchester MeetUp leader. We canvassed until sunset doing mostly voter identification, figuring out who they are leaning towards and what issues they are mostly interested in. At night we met at Murphy?s for drinks and Dr. Paul joined us to thanks us for volunteering. It was a great night and we started canvassing again Sunday morning from 11am to 2:30 pm. We than took off for New York. We stayed in hotels Friday night and with NH volunteers Saturday night. It was a lot of fun and we are planning another big trip to New Hampshire soon. - In Liberty, Jobeyer Ahmed

Debate Watching Party ? Nov 28
More than 100 Ron Paul MeetUp members gathered at the Ron Paul NY headquarters to watch the CNN debate. We met new people, watched the debate, talked politics and had some drinks. Our event, along with many other similar events, was broadcast on Justin TV. The next debate-watching party will be at the Ron Paul HQ on Wednesday, Dec 12.

Naomi Wolf Book Signing ? Dec 3
The Naomi Wolf book signing was a great reachout event in favor of Ron Paul. Naomi highlighted the main points of her book which are the ten steps that leaders use to close down their societies into fascism. During her speech she mentioned Ron Paul several times favorably when she quoted legislation that he introduced to restore the constitutions checks and balances. Although the bookstore was obviously full of liberal democrats they all seemed interested in hearing more about Dr. Paul afterwards. I stood around to hand out flyers and many, many people were very eager to hear more about his positions. I handed out a lot of material, and converted one patron totally after he approached me with his only concern about Dr. Paul and his position on abortion. As soon as he learned about him being an OB doctor, he said, ok, I'm sold. So, as outreach events, these book signings are extremely good platforms for our message, as they are populated by people searching for these types of ideas. I was very glad I went. ? Sign-Making Party ? Nov 24
About 25 RP MeetUp members attended a sign-making party at the NY Ron Paul HQ. We made about 15 signs. Using stencils, we spray-painted designs on to large banners. One design shows a artistic portrait of Ron Paul and another had the classic R-love-ution design. One of the banners was displayed on Nick's building and another will be used at commuter outreach events.

Catholic Church Outreach ? Dec 2
The two of us visited three churches to greet people entering and exiting four masses. The churches were on the East Side, on 90th, 87th, and 77th. The best opener is, ?Catholics for Ron Paul. Would you like a flyer?? Ron Paul supporters in New Haven plan a similar event in their local area. ? paraphrased comments from Brendan
