When was your most recent train trip and where did you go?

My most recent Rail Trip Report is: http://trainweb.org/carl/AmericaByAmtrak/ A Trip coast-to-coast and border-to-border with son Matthew Morrison in July, 2017.

When and how did you first get interested in train travel?

Born on a farm along the B&O near Hayden, Indiana. Loved hearing the steam engines until 1960 when I left for college. 1968 we moved to CA and took the train cross country often. TrainWeb has given me an outlet for my travel writing and photos.

Of the train trips you have taken, which was your favorite?

I have three favorites: Copper Canyon, Mexico, Expresso Maya private train through the Mayan Ruins in Mexico, and the American Orient Express (AOE). Amtrak Favorites: Coast Starlight, Southwest Chief, and Empire Builder. Favorite Tourist Trains: Verde Canyon, Grand Canyon, 1897 Jamestown, Wine Train, Skunk Train. Still need to ride: Durango Silverton, Royal Gorge, Georgetown. Favorite Railside Hotels: Depot Inn & Suites in La Plata, Missouri; Izaak Walton Inn in Glacier Park; Hotel Denver in Glenwood Springs.
