Brooklyn Uke Night is for everyone who wants to play ukulele, share songs, and get to know other uke enthusiasts! A fun and open atmosphere of good cheer and good tunes.
Everyone welcome!
For the unforeseeable future we can only meet virtually so we have composed some guidelines to follow to make our Zoom Meetups more fun for everyone. The first section is just about our general format and at the bottom are suggestions for Zoom audio settings. By joining us we expect that you have reviewed, agree to and follow these guidelines:
• Ukesters who RSVP Yes for Uke Night will receive a Message in Meetup that day by 5:00 PM with the Passcode. Login to Meetup and click Messages to view. You may receive an email also, but viewing the Message will ensure you have the Passcode in advance.
• Please submit your songs no later than 5:00 PM on the day of the jam to: kgbklynukes @ gmail.com (remove spaces).
• If you have technical issues we ask that you request help outside of the Brooklyn Ukes meetup time. You can reach out to kgbklynukes @ gmail.com (remove spaces) or lizschnore @ gmail.com (remove spaces) for help. See below for Zoom Audio Settings for Music procedure.
• We will use the first 10 minutes of the jam to say hello and do some quick introductions. If you enter the meet up after that first 10 minutes then we ask that you enter like you would if you showed up late to the jam and save your introduction till after 8:30 PM.
• The Zoom jam will stay open after the jam to allow people to have time to ask questions, get technical help or just shoot the shit.
• Please request to do a song by sending a Chat to Kevin and he will announce who's next and let everyone know which song sheet to access in the drive. Song sheets are located in the Google Drive here: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/13i9rU3zqtTS2_hS_9zpRrMSF9jDoeKEC
• Please see the Zoom Audio Settings for Music procedure. It is located in the Google Drive in the Docs folder. Making these changes to your audio settings will ensure you sound good and will not experience clipping (distortion).
