Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS) is a highly scalable, high-performance container orchestration service that supports Docker containers and allows you to easily run and scale containerized applications on AWS. Amazon ECS eliminates the need for you to install and operate your own container orchestration software, manage and scale a cluster of virtual machines, or schedule containers on those virtual machines. With simple API calls, you can launch and stop Docker-enabled applications, query the complete state of your application, and access many familiar features such as IAM roles, security groups, load balancers, Amazon CloudWatch Events, AWS CloudFormation templates, and AWS CloudTrail logs. Learning Objectives: - Understanding container orchestration - Mutable v/s Immutable infrastructure - Perils of Config management - Features and use cases of AWS ECS - ECS v/s EKS / Nomad (will see if we can include this) - Druva's stack transition into ECS with EZDeploy (our homegrown tool) ======================================================================= Note: If you are interested in delivering a talk at our meetup or Want to volunteer for our group please fill this form: http://bit.ly/AWSPune For updates : 1. AWS Step Functions: a Serverless Orchestrator [Workshop]

Hello Everyone, Important Announcement: ------------------------------------------------------ Method of registration for this event is different. You have to submit following Registration Form and you will receive confirmation mail 5 days prior to the event with the venue and other details. only confirmed attendees will be allowed to join the event. Link for Registration Form: http://bit.ly/awspuneoct -------------------------------------------------------- Topic : AWS Step Functions: a Serverless Orchestrator Speaker bio: Mr. Amit Chandra Pathak, .net developer, having 4.5+ experience, currently working with Siemens PLM Software. Using AWS from more than 1.5+ year Description: AWS Step Functions lets you coordinate multiple AWS services into serverless workflows so you can build and update apps quickly. Using Step Functions, you can design and run workflows that stitch together services such as AWS Lambda and Amazon ECS into feature-rich applications. Workflows are made up of a series of steps, with the output of one step acting as input into the next. Application development is simpler and more intuitive using Step Functions because it translates your workflow into a state machine diagram that is easy to understand, easy to explain to others, and easy to change. You can monitor each step of execution as it happens, which means you can identify and fix problems quickly. Step Functions automatically triggers and tracks each step, and retries when there are errors, so your application executes in order and as expected. Agenda: Will go through some of the use cases where this service comes handy, will also cover some aws services like lambda, CloudFormation, CloudWatch the programming language which we will use is C#(.net core framework), so pre-requisition of this language is a must. The session will take around 2 hours, where we will walk through code, will understand some of the mentioned services, will also look into the already implemented solution with step function in the industry. contact [masked] if you have any query. =================================================================== Note: If you are interested in delivering a talk at our meetup or Want to volunteer for our group please fill this form: http://bit.ly/AWSPune For updates : 1.
