Excellent day. Thanks everyone for the camaraderie!
Most notable: Christian 7:45 in the 50 mile, Anna 5:35 in the 50K.
Good times. I said hello to "the wall" in this one, embraced it for a while and eventually broke thru. Yay! Beautiful views on this super clear day.

Some of us considering heading over to Marin Brewing Co (across the street from Larkspur Ferry lot). Given the cold windiness we may just head over progressively as we finish instead of hanging for a long time and getting really cold. Maybe people can rotate in and out of a BRC table as we wish...

Looks like mostly sunny, 46 F (whole race day) and very windy later in the race. Only a small chance of remnant sprinkles early on.

wOOt - picked up my bib tonight. One thing: it is pink. Is that to signify that I'm a sissy for only going 26 miles? ;-)

    December 5, 2013

    • Anna

I don't think anyone that runs 26 miles is a sissy! That's only 0.5% of the US population apparently

Apparently TNFEC is a flat and fast course for those Colorado runners: http://www.mountainonline.com/chasing-dakota/

    December 4, 2013

    • Drew

That's funny - 9200' of gain in 50 miles is "flat and fast"

Hoping to meet some of you there! I will be volunteering at the packet pick up at the north face store Friday afternoon and at the race site packet pick up on Saturday. If anyone needs a ride from the east bay on Saturday around 9:30-10am ish let me know. Also can give a ride on Sunday for the 5k race leaving around 6:45 or so.

Can't wait to see your team in action! :)

  • Anya

I can be easily convinced to get in on a relay team again if there are others interested in forming a competitive team.

And the update is of course you'll be on "BRC Relay Team Dean" :-) Just make sure he knows that the photo of him on the trail in a BRC shirt is *not* optional.

We're formally known as team "Dean's List" haha

This is why I joined this group! I'm training for my very first 5k at the north face endurance run, in fact this will be my very first race ever! I'm hoping to be able to run the entire thing and finish. My first running goal. :)

    • Anya

Brooke, try not to put too much stress on yourself or set rigid goals. This area is beautiful and even if you just go out there and experience the course (whether you run, walk, or both) it is still a big achievement, especially if its your first race!

      October 15, 2013

    • Anna

Hi Brooke, it's understandable that you may feel apprehensive about your first race. I really recommend the Sunday morning group in Albany. They are a great group to train with for your first 5k. Bin is a regular with that group!
