Eisenhower Park Tuesday Trail R-U-N

Eisenhower Park Sunset Trail Run

Run: Eisenhower is one of San Antonio's best running parks. Come for the Challenge or come for the fun! This is a hilly rock trail run, but there are paved options. We generally break up into small groups according to ability and/or course preference. Each group and/or solo runner heads off for whichever course and run they decide upon.

Time: This run/meetup begins at 6:45pm and will last one hour. We run for 45 to 50 minutes and usually leave by the one-hour mark. Runners can stay longer, but after one hour you are on your own.

Observation Tower: Many runners regroup at the tower at about the 35-40 mark to enjoy the sunset and the view. After visiting a bit we run back down the big hill to our cars and the end of our Meetup.

The Park: Eisenhower is a fantastic trail-run park and one of the best parks overall in San Antonio. It's big enough to offer variety but small enough that no one gets truly lost. There are so many trails, courses and run options that any runner can find something to their liking.

The Choices: Something for everyone. Beginner Trail Runners can run the left side of the park which is less hilly and not quite as rocky. Experienced Trail Runners can crossover to the right side (Hillview Trail) for a more challenging run of rocky inclines and steep downhills.

Observation Tower and Cedar Flats: In addition to all the trails, there is a paved 1-mile (Cedar Flats) trail that leads to the highest point of the park and to the observation tower. At the observation tower you will have stunning 360-degree view of San Antonio and the Hill Country.

Meeting Spot: Meet near the picnic table by the restrooms and playground.
