Designing for extreme conditions and uncontrollable worlds, Krys Blackwood from NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, is working at the forefront of user experience. Krys will share her experiences researching, designing and prototyping for JPL's mission critical systems within its Human Centered Design group. She will also discuss best tactics in creating internal champions for design changes, as well as some of the research practices commonly used by the at JPL.

About the Krys Blackwood

Krys has been designing interfaces for 22 years. Most of her career was spent in the Silicon Valley, designing e-commerce experiences for companies ranging from startups to Fortune 500 corporations. She is both a researcher and a designer and specializes in helping companies adopt a user centered approach. She’s now working on the Europa Clipper mission and designing the future of deep space operations for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA.
