We will meet in front of the green gate (#150) and head up Training Hill then on over to Cool for dinner at the pizza place.

After dinner, we will head back the longer, less steep route.

Please bring a headlamp or flashlight, plenty of water, and money for dinner.

Total mileage is about 6 miles and will take approximately 4 hours - for both hiking and dining.

Directions: From Hwy. 80, heading east towards Auburn, take the Elm Street Exit. Turn left at the stoplight, following signs for 49S, towards Placerville and Cool. Turn left at the next stoplight, onto Hwy. 49S. Continue down Hwy. 49 into the canyon, and turn right at the confluence. Cross over the bridge and start looking for places to park on the right side of the road. Parking here is free.

    Hello All,

I have always loved this beautiful Wednesday group. Now I feel like English is my second language because having trouble putting it into words. Here it is: These are the most special people on earth. Funny how quiet and "shy" Jody was on the first hike, only to find out he is animated, funny, intelligent and full of life. Looking great Jody! Such a joy!! Thank you Cheryl for all your great creations. The hat and binoculars were jaw dropping!

Well, we did it again - Another fabulous hike up Training Hill with beautiful wildflowers and perfect weather. And trekking over to Cool, through the beautiful green meadow was a perfect way to work up an appetite for a wonderful dinner. And we topped it off with Ken and Deb's wonderful carrot cake squares - YUM! Thank you all for coming out and making this a wonderful hike 'n dine!

Loved your vibrant orange mountain picture, however you with the cow! Wow brings tears of joy. I just love to go through cows on a hike, so beautiful. Haven't attempted to get so close though.
