We'll meet at the green gate past the bridge. It is the same entrance used for Training Hill . The Pig Farm Trail is a secluded but not as difficult of a hike as Training Hill and offers a forest scene of manzanitas and other various species of plants/trees. The trail is narrow and gains elevation .6 of a mile. It then links into the last .3 mile of Training Hill, all going uphill. We'll make a brief stop at the top then start by connecting to the Olmstead Loop Trail on our way back. Total hiking mileage is a little over 5 miles and should take no more than two hours to complete.
Please bring water, snacks, light sweater/jacket, a gentle attitude, and a headlamp.
Trailhead Directions: Heading East on I-80, exit off Elm Rd. then turn left. Stay on left lane then turn left at first signal and merge right. Go straight after light to Highway 49 for about 1 1/2 miles on winding road. Turn right at the bridge and park alongside all the other cars to your right.
