Sacramento Boardgames, Cardgames, & Miniatures Meetup Group Pages

Welcome to the Sacramento Boardgames, Cardgames, and Miniatures Meetup! This is an excellent place to find fellow gamers, try out some new games, and generally have a great time.

Our regular weekly meetup on Tuesday nights (6:00 p.m to 11:00 p.m) is just one of many events available. This meeting takes place at the Crepeville in Midtown at L St. and 18th St.

We also have a weekly gathering at Great Escape Games on Thursday nights (6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.). Great Escape Games is on Howe Ave., just south of Hurley, in the back corner of the shopping center containing Marshalls and Old Navy.

We also usually host a game day on one Saturday each month (hours vary depending on availability of the room) at the Arden-Dimick library (Watt & Northrop), subject to availability of the community room there.

At these meetings, we play mostly Euro or Designer games. Some of the commonly played games include Puerto Rico, Carcassonne, Agricola, Race for the Galaxy, Caylus, and Power Grid. To get a good feel for the games we play, visit this thread on our Message Board, which contains links to lists of games played at previous Meetups.

We usually have at least one "open" gaming event each week, plus other game-specific events, e.g. Scrabble, Go, Settlers of Catan.

Steph has created a portal site to help people find clubs, gaming groups, leaders' contacts, game stores, etc.

Many of our members also belong to other local gaming groups such as Sacramento Board Games Club, the Sacramento Gaming Community and SABA. Besides the public events, some members host private events in their homes. These are usually not on the calendar, so you need to find out about these by word-of-mouth (or should I say "word of email"?)

If you're interested in a particular game, the Sacramento area has game-specific groups for Dungeons & Dragons, Go, Magic: The Gathering, Scrabble, and Settlers of Catan. (I'm sure that there are other groups which I have left out inadvertantly. If you have a group you would like listed here, let me know. Likewise, if you find that one of these groups is defunct, let me know so I can pull it.)
