If you have always wanted to sail, but never have; If you used to sail quite a bit, but haven't in awhile; If you sailed last week, and want to sail again, then join Sail la Vie for a 4-6 hour afternoon sail this afternoon! As a courtesy to your fellow sailors, please be prompt. There will be a pre-sail safety check out. We will have you back at the dock around 5:00 PM. This is a sail for the beginner, as well as, the experienced. Afternoon sails are a time to relax and enjoy the feel of sailing or get engaged by taking the helm or trimming a sail. Whichever you choose it will be fun. Our skippers are skilled at helping the novice or someone with experience participate to the level they choose. Bring snacks to share and your favorite beverage to enjoy... remember no red wine on deck.
Your slot on the boat is not reserved until payment is received. This Afternoon Sail is $57 per person via Paypal. http://saillavie.org/Calendar.html . Or, $55 if you come by our SLV meeting at Stag's Head Pub Wednesday. For an Afternoon Sail it is a bargain at twice the price! The deadline to sign up is 9 PM Wednesday evening, prior to the sail.
What to bring - Dress for the weather. Remember, temperatures are always 5-10 degree cooler on the water. Bring a bag with a few extra layers which can be easily added, or removed. Please wear " NON-MARKING" shoes - no high heels, no hard soled, or black rubber soled shoes. And please ladies, no high heeled shoes.
Food - Feel free to bring along snacks. There's no need for a meal. Cheese and crackers, fruit tray, brownies, and cookies are all great items. Bring items which can be shared among the crew.
Drinks - bring plenty to drink, you don't want to get dehydrated. Beer, wine, or your favorite beverage is OK. Please, NO red wine, it stains the white fiberglass.
After the sail, please hang around for a few minutes to unload the boat, strainghten up a bit and secure the boat.
This sail is weather permitting. In case of cancellation due to inclement weather, all paid sailors will receive a credit for a future sail. All sailor cancellations must be made by 7 PM the Wednesday prior to the sail.
If you sign up for a spot on the boat and cancel after the Wednesday night of that week's sail, you are still required to pay. If you cannot sail, please let the rear commodore know so that he can call someone on the wait list to take your spot, [masked] .
REGULAR SAILS – Every Saturday SLV skippers offer afternoon sails (11:30 AM- 7:00 PM) providing there are enough interested SLV members and their guests. Training sails are the 4th Saturday of each month.

Training Sails are limited to SLV members only. If you have not paid your annual dues, we are sorry, but you may not participate in a training sail. Training sails are in principle limited to six crew-in-training; larger groups can be accommodated on the case by case basis. Please note that once committed, the deadline to cancel the training sail commitment is 7 p.m. the Wednesday night before the Saturday sail.
