25.Jun.2025, 6:30pm: Drinking Liberally - at The Studio Public House

We ARE gathering at The Studio this Wednesday, as we have been doing regularly for some time.

Some of you may have heard the news that the owner of the property currently occupied by The Studio -- will be selling the property for development. The sad result is that sometime this summer The Studio will be closing. Mike & Ali (owners of The Studio - leasing the property) are looking for a new location, and there will be a period of time between The Studio closing and their new business opening. SO, we will need to find a new home for our weekly gatherings. We WILL continue meeting at The Studio until further notice.

Requirements for a new place for us to meet include: central St Pete location, ideally includes outdoor seating, ideally a full bar, at least some vegan food options, and we definitely need a place that will welcome liberals. If you have ideas of a location, please let me know (no need to tell me about establishments that are not in central St Pete).

In other news ...OY! so much going on. Shirley and I are back from some glorious weeks traveling all over Norway with a good Norwegian friend. Even though we read, listened to, and discussed the news a LOT, it was still a peaceful sanity break.

For the curious, re-entering the US was easy and fast and about the same as prior times. It probably helps that we are US citizens, have Global Entry, and given that we are older, middle class, and pale, we were probably low on the list of folks to interrogate.
