Level 1 Combat Medic - Combat Skills Intensive (2)

We need at least 5 core basic grads attending to make this happen, so please sign up ASAP if you plan on being there.  A $50 deposit helps us plan properly for food as well if you can manage that ahead of time.  If not, just email and let me know for sure you will be attending and you can pay at the start of class.

We will start by 8AM sharp on Saturday and be finished by 4PM on Sunday.  There will be some evening and night training as well.

This is the second of 2 weekends (one in April and one in May) designed to teach all the combat-related skills for the Level 1 Combat Medic Specialty.  I have simplified the requirements for all of the level 1 specialties.  The requirements for Level 1 Combat Medic are listed below.  If there are enough folks ready by this fall/winter, I will schedule a test weekend for all.  The tests will require a certain ability in each area in order to pass. Simply going to these 2 weekends does not guarantee a student's ability to actually perform these skills.  It requires practice.  Aside from weeknight training starting soon, we will have practice weekends for a very minimal facilities usage fee (probably $5.00) to work on these skills prior to a testing weekend.

We will start training on at least one weeknight per week, but these 2 weekends will provide the full spectrum of technique being taught for the Level 1 Combat Medic, for those who are interested in getting the entire curriculum at one time to then be able to practice.

This second weekend will include about half of the combat requirements (combat only, no medic-related curriculum will be taught during these weekends) listed below.  There will be a short class on exercise physiology and herbal nutrition over the course of the 2 weekends.

There will also be some Chi Kung and awareness exercises interspersed throughout both weekends, along with other general martial-arts-related fitness exercises (balance, strength, stamina, agility, etc)

Meals are included and will be prepared with many of the herbal nutrition concepts being taught.

Students will make their own bamboo staffs which they can keep, as part of the weekend when Staff Flow 1 is taught.  Stick and Staff will be taught by Rudy Salazar.

Below is a list of all the requirements for the Level 1 Combat Medic.  These will be tested over the period of 1 weekend.

This wrapped up the second installment of the combat/medic, or killer/healers weekend. I think we all had our fair share of eye gouges, elbows to the nose, scorpion bites, ant bites, knee cuts, getting shot by projectiles, shooting projectiles, and choke outs. What an incredible weekend! Thanks to Sam, Suchil and all who attended. Go Honey Badgers!

As great a group of students as any teacher could hope for. Thanks for your hard work.
