How did you hear about this group (i.e. advertising, directly from someone, at an event, online search, Meetup, another group, Facebook)?

Did a search on Meetup to find an atheist group

What prompted you to seek us out at this time? Was it an event that we had organized, or something else specific going on in the world or your own life?

Atheism has become more important to me as I get older, particularly as I pay attention to the lawmaking in this country. I've realized how important it is to have a community of like-minded people to talk to

When did you become an atheist or agnostic?

When I was about 8 or 9 years old - my parents told me I could choose my religion as long as I researched all of the major ones first. Once I was done with my research, I decided I didn't believe in any of them. My parents were very proud ;) It took me a while to become a full-blown atheist. I was agnostic for a while because I didn't want to offend anyone, but as I got older I came around to the decision that I was in fact an atheist and I felt that it was important to start "coming out" as one when I became aware of how strongly religion influences the laws in this country.

What type of events would you be interested in attending? (We pay attention to this! The more specific, the better.)

Speaking events, workshops, happy hours, documentary/movie viewings, book club-type meetups, picnics, game nights/pub trivia, dinners, anything where I can learn

Been an atheist since I was little, would love to make some like-minded friends!
