Movie Night: "Uranium: Is It A Country?"

Nuclear power is currently a hot topic in Southern California and the world; is it safe, is it clean, is it sustainable? This film approaches the topic from a different perspective, literally from the ground up. It examines the process of uranium mining, a practice essential to the production of nuclear power, and a part of the production process often overlooked when classifying nuclear as a "clean" energy source. Join us for a look at uranium mining, and its consequences, around the world, and see if you leave with the same views on nuclear power.

We hope you will join us for a screening and discussion of this interesting film, on a very current topic!

Additional Details:
-Doors open at 5:30, film starts at 6:00
-Drinks and snacks will be served
-A discussion will follow the showing
-No cost , but a $10 donation is appreciated
-Parking is available at Horton Plaza (3 hours free with validation in
the mall) or in metered street spaces (free after 6:00 pm)

Sort of related, has anyone at the center looked into Thorium molten salt reactors as an improved alternative to how most of our nuclear power is generated?
