Taco Tuesday @ Lake Hodges / Intermediate Ride

Details

Night Ride / Bring lights.

Tonight's Route: To Be Determined

I have 3 routes from which to choose:

Route 1: The Two Loops Route. Loop 1 is out the Highland Valley single track to the base of Raptor Ridge and return via Mule Hill - c. 10 mi. Loop 2 is out to the dam and back - c. 16 mi. for a total of about 26 mi. There is a bailout option at the end of Loop 1.

Route 2: The West Route is out the Lake Hodges North trail, past the dam, down into Del Dios Gorge to the base of the switchbacks and return - c. 23 mi.

Route 3: The East Route is out the Highland Valley single track, up and over Raptor Ridge to the wooden bridge at Santa Maria Creek / Bandy Cyn Rd and return via Mule Hill - c. 19 mi.

Following the ride, we will meet at On the Border Mexican Grill and Cantina. They are located across the street @ 298 E. Via Rancho Pkwy (Southeast corner of the Westfield North County mall parking lot).

This ride is not technically difficult but not recommended for beginners due the speed and distance.

The speed on past rides has been from zippy to quite fast. That said, we adjust the pace as necessary, have periodic regroups or split into 2 (or 3) sub-groups. That is, no one is left behind.

The distance varies from about 16 mi to 28 mi.

The route to be determined, see above.

Total time for the ride should be about 2.5 hrs.

As always, a helmet is required. Please have your bike in good working condition and bring sufficient water and nutrition. And, of course, have lights mounted and ready as well as batteries full charged.
