Program Details

A Great post process in essential for any photographer. As a wedding photographer I shot roughly 150,000 + images per year. Thats a lot to manage and go through. My post processing workflow is absolutely the most critical part of my image creation process next to actually capturing the image in camera. As digital has made it possible for me to expand my creativity, it has also added to my workload. I have now become a data management expert, color correction specialist and have had to master an untold number of programs just to see my images through to competition. Is it worth it? Yes! Most definitely! I believe to make the extra effort payoff, we need an efficient post processing workflow. Digital makes it possible for me to more accurately tell the story the way I saw it in my minds eye. I believe the post processing methods and techniques are as critical as the lens, the shutter speed or aperture you choose to make an image. Pre visualizing your images with your post processing workflow in mind will make a huge difference in your ability to capture and convey that image to your viewer. As I’m shooting, I think. This image is BW….this one will go soft…..this one will be great contrasty and saturated……this one is underexposed, no worries. Keep shooting and creating. From a creative aspect to salvaging what seems a lost image to just getting color balance correct. I hope to show you my post processing methods and how it plays out in my making an image.

Just name a few areas I will cover:

  • Localized Adjustment
  • Gradients Split Toning
  • Setting up Camera RAW Defaults (how and why)
  • Selective color adjustments
  • Highlight and Shadow recovery
  • Perspective Correction
  • Noise reduction
  • Importing Methods
  • Lightroom Behavior

Exporting If time allows and there is a desire. I can cover creating time lapse with Lightroom as well as editing some videos.
