Jen H is the host on this one: La Jolla shores is a great spot to see many species without needing to get into deep water. Many of the leopard sharks, guitar-fish and rays live in water that comes up to your waist, not a lot of swimming required. So come enjoy these balmy summer days with aquatic friends. We will meet on the beach side of the Marine room restaurant (southernmost point of La Jolla Shores beach) at 1pm. I suggest get a spot on the residential street near the marine room and walk through the "secret" alley to the direct left of the marine room to get to the beach to meet everyone. Bring your swim gear/snorkeling mask and or goggles & fins etc. I will actually be wearing a wetsuit but definitely not needed if you will just be in the water for 30-50 minutes about.
If you happen to be a few minutes late as always somebody does, just plop in the water and find us we will not be far. We will start punctually at 1:10 to enjoy the swimming
Bring minimal gear because whatever we don't bring into the water, we place on the ledge of the Marine Room's windows and there isn't a lot of space.
Hoping it is a nice clear day and great visibility! Be prepared for sting rays as we get in so we'll do the sting ray shuffle.
Since it's early afternoon on Friday, afterwords, you will have lots time to get ready for Friday night fun as usual!!
