How did you hear about the San Diego Vegans?

The best waty to educate is by example and getting engage in indirect opportunities to show them the path. What seems to be the most convincing approach is to cite and bring names of people who were at the edge of dying and collapsing, came back to live, literally. Bill Clinton is an example of doing it after a 4 bypass surgery and all the testimonies from Dr. Esselstyn's patients.

What motivated you to join this MeetUp group?

I want to share with others the wonderful Vegan Lifestyle, learn from each other, make connections, contact others who have the same interests and keep learning on this fascinating topic!

If you had to choose, which of these do you care the most about? Animal welfare, your health, the planet, or humanitarian efforts?

My health, the energy I experience every day. Also, my husband was on High Blood Pressure medication for many years, now he does not take anything and he looks healthier and more energetic. My in-laws in their late 80s, with an extense history of heart problems, they are impressively improving. I am sure they are cleaning and reversing the clogging of their arteries.

How would you label yourself when it comes to lifestyle and nutrition? (Vegan, vegetarian, plant-based foodie, vegan-curious, omnivore, locavore, etc.)

I became VEGAN since August last year. I was always doing on and off the no meat approach and when my son sent me the video of Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, "Make yourself Heart Attack Proof" along with the testimony of Bill Clinton, a case for going Vegan. These two inspirational pieces of scientific information, compelling and eye openeners, made me make the last and final move towards Veganism.

If you've already "Gone Vegan", why'd you do it? If you're considering "Going Vegan", what's inspiring you consider making the decision?

For inspiration, I can name many doctors and their work on this topic. Just on the top of my head: Dr. Colin T. Campbell, mainly known by his famous book, The China Study, Dr. John McDougall, Dr. Neal Barnard, president of the Physicians Committee of Responsible Medicine (PCRM), Dr. Dean Ornish, Dr. Joel Fuhrman, and many more.
