• Project CMF: an Artistic Analysis

    Online event

Short for Cell-based Meat Facility, Project CMF is an ongoing design project by CAS, the Cellular Agriculture Society. Project CMF aims to conceptualize what meat production may look like in 20 years via cellular agriculture, where animal cells are farmed instead of animals. Partner scientists of CAS, over a dozen of the leading cell-based meat scientists in the world, were consulted throughout Project CMF's development, prior to its original unveil at Google last year. They offered technical insight that translated into a design that visualizes an ambitious, yet realistic depiction of what meat production could look like in 2040.

Kris Gasteratos, Founder of CAS and Project CMF, will walk through the CAS Team's artistic approach throughout CMF's development thus far, discuss the utility of creative works like CMF within the cellular agriculture space, ultimately translating to real facilities of the future which set consumer expectations (Archviz to Arch), and share future plans CAS has for visualizing the future of cellular agriculture.

    Our story is your story
Ever wondered how UXers in Manila are thinking? Or what the hot topics are in Nairobi? Or what keeps experience designers up at night in Geneva? Now is your chance to listen in or talk to the world!

We are a non-profit, made up of local and independent UX event organizers from all corners of the world. We love bringing knowledge to our communities in face-to-face events, and are now expanding into the virtual space, together. In June 2020 we joined forces to bring 24 hours of uninterrupted live online content to the global user experience community. So instead of disrupting local communities with a steamroller globalized effort, we are globalizing the local communities themselves. Together we become more than the sum of our parts.

To register for this event, please go to:

GlobalUXD will feature the following presentation:

How Silicon Valley globalized because of the pandemic, and why it's a good thing!

The San Francisco Bay Area has quite a charm when you can walk through the streets of Palo Alto and see founders of unicorns having coffee or Stanford dropouts meeting their co-founder. Enter the pandemic: Now Zoom meetings are the hot spot and location really doesn’t matter, and not just Tim Ferriss style. This talk will discuss how the pandemic dispersed Silicon Valley, how designers from Berlin became community members with designers in Toronto, and why this is a great thing for design and technology.

  • Bias Brainstorm: Spotting and Overcoming Biases When Conducting Research

In this talk and workshop, we'll review common cognitive biases that can get in the way of conducting effective design research, and look at how these show up in our work, from discovery to implementation.
