I'm with Steve - the volunteers should do whatever makes their lives easier. As for that person - I'm sorry her life has been such that it has caused her to become so cynical and protective. It must be exhausting to be constantly on guard against others.

I didn't even notice the email from H-P. If the Santa Cruz New Tech Meetup gets a cool presentation or a few bucks for pizza, and the price I have to pay is the couple of tenths of a second it takes me to click past an unwanted email, I'm happy.

Bottom line: I'm fine with whatever decision the volunteers who have stepped up to run our Meetup make.
