AIDS Walk Los Angeles

  • Oct 17, 2010 · 8:00 AM

http://www.aidswalk.n... This event's fabulous host is ERIN!!!!!!! Like to raise money for/support a great cause? Enjoy large crowds gathered for that same cause? Enjoy walking with a BUNCH of other people? And perhaps one or some of you know someone with, or has lost someone close, to AIDs. This is your chance to remember and show your support for them. If any of that sounds accurate, then join me! I did this with a friend of mine a few years back and I have to say, it has been one of the coolest, most important, and best things I have done to date. I would like to put together a huge team of walkers for this event this year. I hope to get enough of us together who are dedicated to actually showing up this day, so I can register us as an official team. (IThere is a way on the official website to sign up as an individual and also as a team. I would like to create a new team, with our own team name (and hopefully even cool shirts!) and have everyone that wants to do this register for the walk. I do intend to raise donation money for this, and while I wouldn't expect everyone to, if you are willing and able and have friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, etc. etc. who might be willing to pitch in, I urge you to contribute whatever you can along with walking with everyone on this day. There is also a nifty tool on the website where once you've registered, you can send a link to anyone you have an email address for, so they can donate directly through that link to the organization. I will have the official team site set up on the AIDs walk website within the next few days, so people can go directly to the website and join. I am going to look into possible bright colored shirts for us to identify ourselves as a team. Depending on the price of what I can find, we might be able to get the team name on them. And then, for those who may want to add a more personal touch, perhaps we can set a separate MeetUp some time before the day of the walk to decorate the shirts further. I will send out more info on that when I know more about options. I also plan to keep the shirts as cheap as possible. (I certainly ain't rich. ha) But for now, if you KNOW you would like to and think you could come, please RSVP. I will be there on the day even if there are only one or two other people to join me. But it really would be awesome to have a huge group/team of friends and new friends with me. I promise you, the experience is so worth it. I will continue to update you through email and on here as I know more.

Hey guys. I just sent out another reminder email about this Sunday. Hope you can all still make it.
Derek, I tried to email you an update, but your email address doesn't seem to be working. If you're still interested in going and see this message, let me know.

Just a reminder to officially sign up for the team. Read my previous post on how to do that. You don't HAVE to become an official walking team member, but I'm only getting shirts for those who do. Either way, I look forward to seeing all of you there!

Update: I just started the registration for our team, "Full Blown Cure!" (the name was suggested by another member and others agreed that we should use it, so there ya go) I am now waiting to hear back on whether or not that name is taken (shouldn't be) and once I get the go-ahead, I'll continue setting our team up.

Hi, Michelle. I actually posted this under two other groups, one of which, I think you are also a part of and had already RSVP'd under that group. Sorry for any confusion! I am finally setting up the official team on the website tonight, so we can really get this rolling. I will post the link for you and anyone else to join the team through the AIDs walk website. I'm trying to make this as easy to join as possible. I will post further info tonight. Thanks for joining us!!

Wasn't this posted before? I thought I had rsvp'd a while back. How much money do we have to raise in order to walk?
