What we’re about
For anyone questioning or coming out in mid-life (age 30+).
You might have:
- grown up under section 28.
- spent years in straight-appearing relationships.
- been questioning or have confusions around where you fit within the queer community.
- developed a desire to build a group of friends around your age that understand the late blooming experience.
You might like:
- walking around parks having a chat and a brew
- cinema/theatre/art gallery trips
- trying out different queer events
When we say sapphic, we mean women, trans women, and non-binary people who are drawn to women - a broad, welcoming term that celebrates love and connection between women.
From Katie, organiser of the group:
I am starting this group because I am 38, came out about 2 years ago, and I want to find some late blooming queer friends. However, I am struggling to find spaces where I am seen and understood as a late bloomer.
Anyone else??
I am a cis-gender woman and I am interested in finding people with similar experiences. However, making queer friends with varied experiences is also important to me so if you are non-binary, trans, ace or any other type of late bloomer please join and come along to the events.
