About Greg Wade:
A resident of San Diego County since 1984, Mr. Wade is a graduate of UC San Diego’s Urban Studies and Planning Program with a concentration in Urban Design and Environmental Studies and minor in Sociology. Mr. Wade has over 25 years of experience in the fields of urban planning, redevelopment, urban design, long range and policy planning and community outreach and engagement with the majority of his career focused on urbanized communities.Prior to joining Solana Beach as City Manager three years ago, Mr. Wade spent 14 years in the coastal City of Imperial Beach as the City’s Community Development Director and Assistant City Manager. Mr. Wade’s experience in that time has included oversight of several long-range planning efforts including an update to the City’s Commercial Zoning and Local Coastal Program. A past Chair of the San Diego Planning Directors Association, Mr. Wade is very active in regional planning having served as a member of the San Diego Association of Government’s (SANDAG) Regional Planning Technical Working Group, the Shoreline Preservation Technical Working Group, the Coastal Commission-Cities Working Group and the Regional Housing Working Group.
