What's the story? Would I need to bring gear? Easily accessible?

Castle Rock State park is easily accessible. Castle Rock itself is about a 20 minute hike from the parking lot. You will need a lot of webbing (20+ feet) to setup a top rope anchor on the post. There is some sport climbing near the falls, which are all walk offs.
