Glen Shiel Munros Weekend - Carn Ghluasaid,Sgurr nan Conbhairean, Sail Chaorainn

  • Nov 17, 2012 · 8:00 AM

Munros : Sgurr nan Conbhairean, Carn Ghluasaid and Sail Chaorainn

  • Grade : Hard
  • Distance: 17km/10.5 miles
  • Ascent: 1322
  • Time: 7 - 9 hours

We'll follow the Walk Highlands Route - http://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/kintail/sgurrnanconbhairean.shtml

This enjoyable walk takes in three Munros on the north side of Loch Cluanie. Though less steep and shapely than their Glen Shiel counterparts, these mountains give an excellent walk with grand views into their fine eastern corries. As this is a weekend away priority will be given to walkers who are coming on both walks.

TERRAIN

Fairly rounded and easy going mountains by Kintail standards, with a good stalkers path on the approach.

Please read our Participation Statement

This walk has been graded as a Hard walk, however, we will be walking at a hard pace. The intention is to walk as a group, so faster walkers should bear this in mind when signing up. Please ensure your fitness levels are adequate for a walk of this ascent on quite rocky terrain. If you are unsure about this, please contact me before the walk.

Please remember that you are responsible for deciding if this walk is suitable for you, coming adequately prepared and looking after yourself on the walk. If we think the walk is is not suitable for you or you do not seem to have the right equipment, we reserve the right to refuse to let you join, for yours and the groups safety and comfort.

If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch.

Clothing & Equipment

You must ensure that you come adequately prepared for this walk.

A recommended gear list can be found on the MCofS website.

Please don't forget to bring a map with a note of the route description and a compass.

Weather Forecast

Please make sure you check the weather forecast before you come.

If the weather looks really bad, I may decide to cancel or do an alternative walk - this will be discussed before hand.

Lifts / Meetup Time

We will meet at the car park at Lunndie at 8:00am. If you need a lift or can offer space in your car, please indicate this on your RSVP. We will only wait for ten minutes before leaving.

If you need a lift from the Botanic Gardens or somewhere else, please use the comments below to arrange this.

Hi, i'll be driving so if anyone needs a lift I'll be leaving around 12ish on Friday but will probably drive back down to Glasgow on Monday rather than Sunday evening.

Hi Ross, happy to drive if no spaces. If driving, I'll probably leave around midday on Friday and maybe drive down on Monday, as I'm not sure I'll be fit to drive after the walks!
