What we're about
Open to anyone, SCRAM is an Olympia based outdoor cycling meet-up that takes place on Wednesday nights from Spring until Fall, starting at 5:30 PM. We start and finish at The Strong Center Health & Fitness, where we can park, change, and get filtered water. Ride routes and distance options are selected to allow options for riders of different speeds to be done 6:30 - 7:00 PM. We will post ride routes so you can download to phone apps or Garmin, and have ride cue sheets at the ride.
After the ride we can slide down the street to The Office Bar & Grill for refreshments. Get your super-cool SCRAM jersey and get super red-carpet deals on micros and food on ride nights. Please feel free to invite friends to join the SCRAM group here. We'd like to be a low-pressure, high-fun, social ride opportunity for just about everyone. Volunteer ride leaders are always welcome.
*The word "Strong" in the title is not physical a requirement, it's about a strong commitment to cycling for fun, fitness, and friendship.
An important word about safety: Please be sure your bike is in good repair, wear a helmet, have a cell phone, and obey all traffic laws when riding. Additionally, having brightly colored clothing, lights, and maintenance tools and knowing how to use them is always a good idea.
If you need help with any of the above, we suggest you contact one of the many bike shops or bike clubs/teams in our area, as they often have free or low-cost clinics on equipment, maintenance, and riding skills.
We also post information about rides in the Pacific Northwest that some of our members are participating in, to help make it easier to share tips, logistics, carpool, and make more cycling friends.
