Just a quick follow-up about film and screenwriting festivals and conferences at the June meet-up. I bought my badge for Austin today. I'll buy my plane ticket next week and work on the hotel over the weekend. I went for the Producers badge plus the Film and Food pre-conference party on the 22nd. I'm looking forward to it!

I'm going too! I bought my badge a couple months ago, but I haven't booked the flight yet. I guess I need to get on that.

Got my Producers Badge (no extras) and booked my flight. Now to figure out the hotel.

To update: Yesterday, I sent MOTHER JUDGERS off to get coverage from the people at Austin Film Festival. Hoping it doesn't take too long to get it back. They say within 60 days, but I'm hoping for much faster. Trying to keep to my meetup-imposed deadline. :)

I'm almost done reading and it's hilarious :) I am confident you will get your coverage :)

That's a great compliment coming from a Second City alum!

I had a great time this morning. Brian and Heather, thanks for sharing your comedic work -- so impressed! I appreciate the openness to learning, the shared resources, encouraging each other to complete their work and submit to contests, and the funny stories!

Talked to Cheryl. We are moving this back to LPQ due to impending rain overnight and through the morning tomorrow. LPQ did not commit to saving a spot for us. They recommended arriving early. I usually get there early and will try and grab an end of the big table upstairs. Check the Twitter feed for updates: @swemeetup

I just finished another draft of my R-rated female comedy. Very timely for this month. I'd love to share it if anyone wants me to email it. I can bring some pages, too.

If it's raining tomorrow, what's the name of the restaurant where we meet?

    June 20, 2014

    • Brian M.

Yeah, I was just noticing the weather for tomorrow too. A shame we are not doing this today because it is awesome out.

Janeen & All - Chatting with Cheryl about an alternate indoor place to do this tomorrow (rain). LPQ has great food and coffee, but it gets really loud. We would also like to replicate the "round table"/one conversation experience of the park. Doing a search and will update here shortly (and on twitter).

I just got Heather's screenplay -- how many pages should we read and review for tomorrow?

    June 20, 2014

    • Brian M.

As far as you can. I still need to finish reading Bridesmaids tonight. Then I will get as far as possible in Heather's work before tomorrow. I plan to print out some pages I wrote for the SNL Sketch Writing class and bring them to the meet-up tomorrow.

Just a reminder to read BRIDESMAIDS in advance of this Saturday's meet-up!

Unfortunately I can't make it this month. I already have plans to see my friend's band perform in Cleveland that weekend. Love the movie though.

"Bridesmaids" is floating around the web and can be found using Scridx (http://www.scridx.com/search?q=Bridesmaids). A copy is also available in the Files section of this meet-up under the "More" menu heading.

I can share a sketch or two I wrote during the recent SNL Sketch Writing workshop at the DC Improv.

I'm writing a female-driven R-rated comedy, so I am very excited for this one.

I'm trying to finish a romantic comedy myself so this will be great and that sketch writing class information will surely be interesting.

I recently took the SNL Sketch Writing class at DC Improv and willing to share a bit about the experience.
