A one-day Coronado Islands journey full of fun and adventure! This will be a three-tank, no-profit day trip aboard the MV Humboldt.

If you bring your own tank, make sure it is full upon arrival at the dock. The boat will NOT be filling tanks before departure or on the way there. Be sure to let them know beforehand as well.

All passengers must bring a passport and their cert card!

The boat provides Steel 85 LP tanks and weights. THESE HAVE DIFFERENT WEIGHTING REQUIREMENTS THAN AL80s. Nitrox available, but must be procured at the office. (No air/nitrox compressor on-board the boat.) You provide all other gear. If you don't have a buddy you may team up with another single on the boat.

Boat rents gear (via the linked-to form). Boat provides food and drink between dives.

COST: $165.42 (This includes the mandatory Mexican visa)

POSSIBLE DIVE SITES: Lobster Shack (sea lions!), Keyhole, Pukey Point, Middle Grounds, South Island (Depths of 30-65 fsw).

Conditions may influence where we can safely dive.

CHECK-IN and BOARDING TIME: 7:00am. Please don't be late. Boat leaves soon after boarding.

PARKING: Free street parking by the Waterhorse office. (Don't park in the lot.)

BOARDING: Sign in at the office, show passport, assemble your gear on boat (keep dive boxes/bags OUT OF the walkways), then make room for others. Large boxes and bags may be stored on the second level. Small drybags can be stored in the berth. Keep bags OFF the bench seats. (Those are for people.)

SKILLS: Current possible. A strong skill-set at any level should allow you to perform these dives safely.

Pointers: BRING YOUR CERT CARD AND PASSPORT./Hydrate really well./
Take seasickness meds./Eat a decent, non-greasy breakfast./Have something to keep you warm between dives (overcoat, boat jacket, etc)./Bring a torch for peering into nooks and crannies./End your dive close to the boat (unless you enjoy long surface swims)./ALWAYS bring your dive essentials: safety sausage, knife, and whistle, at a minimum!/Don't forget to tip boat crew if they do a good job for you. The DM is there for your safety. Take care of him/her!

Boat Etiquette Reminder: Don't be late./Space is limited on a boat. Stow all your gear where directed by crew./Keep gear out of the walk-way./Put your fins on at drop-in point (not forward and then flip flop over people's feet and gear)./Don't clog up the marine head with Baby Ruth bars, tampons, or similar./If you have to throw up, do it downwind (leeward), NOT IN THE HEAD./If you have to cancel, do it well before the cutoff time so Bill has a chance to sell your seat.

ADMIN STUFF YOU MUST READ:

If you have not filled out a Liability Release for Power Scuba Meetup, please follow this link for the electronic waiver: http://bit.ly/power-scuba

You must also read this: Disclaimer and Clarification... AKA Terms and Conditions: http://www.meetup.com/Scuba-Diving-San-Diego/messages/boards/thread/5914647

Anyone with a medical condition possibly counter-indicative to diving must have a doctors signature on a diving waiver form and submit signed form to Bill Powers (or an organizer) before they may attend any Power Scuba event. YOU MAY NOT ATTEND AN EVENT WITH AN UNDISCLOSED MEDICAL CONDITION. Doing so is grounds for expulsion from the group. Our medical statement is found in the Files section of our Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/PowerScuba/files/ (Therein you'll find a Doctor Waiver form as well.)

Attendees affirm they are medically fit to dive, have read the Terms and Conditions, and have submitted a signed Liability Release to an organizer... and that your "plus 1", if applicable, agrees to the same.

IMPORTANT NOTE: It is not the organizer's role to lead your dive. He/she merely facilitates you getting to the pre-dive meeting location. The Organizer will not assign you a buddy nor will he/she be leading the dive as a "group dive". Visibility and liability do not allow for that. You must plan and execute your dive with your dive buddy only. Once members arrive at the meeting spot, the Organizer becomes simply another diver.
