Check out their blog on the topic here: http://theaquanutz.freeblog.site/blog/are-you-covered-in-the-event-of-an-accident-while-on-a-scuba-trip Now… getting there. Airfare is NOT included in the package price. As their group is vast and spans across the US, their travelers are originating from multiple airports across the country. As such, it makes the most sense to leave the airfare to each of the parties individually to select the option best for them. Don’t forget to check your frequent flier miles for upgrades and discounts on certain legs of the flight. And of course, and as always, even though air is not included in the price above we’re more than happy to assist each of you in finding airfare for yourselves. In fact, for those leaving out of our home port in the San Francisco Bay, they’ve been looking into flight options for all of us to take together for those interested. They found roundtrip airfare from San Francisco (SFO) to Manila (MNL) for $550 - $650 per person depending on selections when we did our search on http://www.skyscanner.com/. Click the “Non-stop” option to find the most direct flights. You should find a flight taking about 14 hours. Be very careful about selecting the right flight, however, as we cross the International Date Line. So, the trip leaders are planning to leave Thursday night the 19th to arrive on Saturday morning the 21st. From Manila (MNL), you’ll need to fly to Dumaguete (DGT). They found this short flight comfortably aligning with our arrival and departure times (about 1.5 hr) available for about $150 per person at http://www.mangotours.com/. Selecting this flight, however, you'll have to pay additional baggage fees. For convenience, the trip leaders have opted to pay the additional few bucks and go direct from SFO to DGT (with a stop in MNL). By booking all the way through, it is a tad more expensive but you won't have to worry about additional baggage fees and such upon check-in. Plus the airline will handle the baggage transfers... knock on wood. ;) It's worth the extra couple of bucks to some to have the convenience. From Dumaguete, you’re a quick 30 minute drive from the resort. The resort does offer transfers to and from for ~$30 per person that they’ve gone ahead and included in their package for simplicity. Thanks so much and we look forward to diving with each and every one of you again. Please let us know if you’re planning to join us in whatever way works best for you… phone, email, text, dropping by our place :)... so that we can lock in your spots. We have space for 14 travelers at the moment, with 10 signed up currently. • South Monastery Shore Dive
Conditions have been consistently good lately. South Monastery is a great dive site, but its best dived when conditions are flat. Its got great topography -- scattered reefs and boulders forming little valleys and niches, with a nice kelp forest. Entry and exit can be difficult. Its not as bad as North Monastery. However, you should be comfortable with surf entries. Once your in the water, its a fairly easy dive. Lets plan to meet at South Monastery at 8:30 am ready to gear up and dive. Im planning to bring 2 tanks. Lets dive!

  • Dive Time!
The weather is taking it's time to heat up but that never stops a determined diver. Let's get together and get wet at Lovers Cove. If you've Dove here before, you know the drill. Anything can and usually does swim off the shores here and it's a great opportunity to check out some cool marine life and rock formations. If you haven't dove here, you're in for a real California treat. Dive with you soon!

This Saturday should be really flat and a good time to try some exposed, rarely dived spots in Monterey like Cypress Point or Point Joe. Anybody interested in joining me diving something new?
