I play rock'n'roll but that can mean so much... is it "Yesterday" or "Black Sabbath"? Rock has such a range. The thread between most songs is beat, lyrics and vocals.
Bass Guitar, Guitar (acoutic and electric), drums percussion (though I wouldn't call myelf a 'drummer' per se), and keyboards, my own style. Ray Charles, Alan Price, John Lennon influenced
I keep trying but I find it hard to collaborate because it's like giving away one of your children. If I met a fellow musician and there was a chemistry, I would try, but the problem is, if the relationship dissolves, who gets the song? I'd probably be a great collaborator because I love adding to other peoples ides, but get kind of testy when someone wants to try to change mine. I'm not very mature in that way, but I keep trying. I like having a singing partner though and do originals (Not necessarily co-written).
By giving them encouragement. In NY, I owned a rehearsal/recording studio and saw so many great bands born and die in my studio. I would always encourage them to get out and play. Don't wait till it's perfect because it will never be unless you meet your audience. I wish someone would give me such advice!
Come to my shows, ask me. My website (alvenditti.com) has been "under construction ' for a year, looks terrible, i'm just not into the techical part of it. I'd rather be playing.
I play guitar, bass, some drums, keyboard. I try to make my originals vary. Some loud, soft, whatever the mood of the moment is. Vocal harmonies and interplay between instruments complete the package. Born in Brooklyn NY, settled in San Diego.
I was a bit disappointed that I was not able to ask questions during the presentation and then at the end I raised my hand 4 times and was not called on. Maybe less time for the pre-performers and more time to the guest speaker would have been nice; otherwise, a rare opportunity to speak (listen to) alegal professional. I learned a lot. Thanks for organizing this.
