We have a meetup at HasOffers (http://www.hasoffers.com/) this month! They will be providing us with some food and beverages as well as their meeting space. Please RSVP! Food will be ready at 6:30; the intro/talks will start shortly after 7:00.
Russell Lee will be talking about... Dependency Injection: A complex name for a simple concept. What is it, why, and how? We'll talk about common misconceptions, related concepts, and refactor samples so you can see it in action and ask questions.
Lee Brown, CTO of HasOffers, will be speaking to us about how PHP and related tools are used at HasOffers, as well as technical challenges and solutions for operating PHP at high scalability and volume similar to HasOffers.
"At HasOffers, scalability is about two things, developing a product that addresses a real need and being agile in developing solutions. PHP provides the tools for our teams to be agile. Once clients adopt a solution, then its about handling the high load of requests. At HasOffers, we use PHP and HHVM to take us to the next level of agility and scalability."

Russell Lee – Russell has been working with the LAMP stack for over 10 years building enterprise-level internal systems, batch processes, and management interfaces. Much of his work has involved some level of object-orientated programming using various design patterns such that writing objects from scratch comes naturally.
Lee Brown – Identical twin and co-founder Lee Brown leads the development of the core technologies of HasOffers. From an early age of 11, his interest in programming and Internet technologies led the brothers to build websites for local businesses and eventually their own content driven websites. Building ad serving technology in 2006 led him to contribute a shared memory object to the Apache community. As CTO at HasOffers, Lee is on the front lines of scalability and flexibility, spearheading an API driven data layer and unique solutions for utilizing Amazon Web Services to host all HasOffers products and technologies for industry leading uptime and performance. Lee graduated from Babson College in Boston, MA.
