What we're about

"There is no sincerer love than the love of food." - George Bernard Shaw

We're sure most would agree, there's no better way to explore the world than through a good meal and great conversation and, as members, you'll be the first to hear about our dinner series, as well as our food tours.

We're happy you're here and look forward to meeting you at an event. If you're a restaurant or venue with an inquiry or idea for a partnership, please send an email to partnerships@searchingforgold.com.

New York Eats: West Village

Needs a location

This is a food adventure you don’t want to miss!

First time in New York? Join us on this crash course of New York City’s most iconic foods. Learn about the history and traditions surrounding each food item on our list, as well as how each establishment contributed to its popularity.

Explore some of New York City’s favorite neighborhoods and taste some of the most famous foods in New York! Learn about their evolution and why, admittedly, New Yorkers are so particular about what they eat.

On the West Village tour, you’ll discover why New Yorkers fold their pizza before eating it, why the black and white cookie is considered a symbol of peace and the difference between Gray’s Papaya, Papaya Dog and Papaya King.

This informative, but fun on the go experience is part food tour and part scavenger hunt (make sure to grab a score card from your tour guide). If you’re looking for a food tour to complete your trip to New York City or looking for something fun to do on the weekend, this is it.

Join us on this kitschy tour of New York’s must eat foods and find out why ‘New York Style’ is the best style!

Please note: This food tour takes place in and around the West Village and includes six sidewalk tastings. This event meets regularly on Fridays. The cost of food is not included. Tips are appreciated.

This event is brought to you by Searching for Gold Tours℠.
