Whether you're an industry professional or merely an enthusiast of Architecture, members are notified of events for all interests.
Ideally, the group's Meetup calendar serves as a one-stop reference for local architecture events that are open to the public. Our event schedule largely consists of events hosted by other organizations. Our Meetup group is not affiliated with any of these organizations; therefore, it's encouraged to verify event details with original sources. Events include Architectural model exhibits, lectures, open houses, and walking tours of local Architecture. Members are welcomed to initiate comment threads and post event suggestions--especially events that are unique, free, and can be organized by our membership. We're always looking for open houses of available real estate with architectural significance.
Since events are typically organized and hosted outside of Meetup, RSVP'ing on Meetup is almost always optional. Doing so, however, will enable other Meetup folk to recognize you by name and photo. The posted events are not intended for us to limit our interaction to each other, but instead, to feel connected with our built environment and meet like-minded people (Meetup members or not).
In order to schedule the events, Meetup shows that I'll be in attendance. I actually don't show up to many events. If you're curious whether I'm really really attending, or have any concerns or accolades about the group, please send me a message.
Some events will be planned where we can meet up at a nearby coffee shop and then go to event as a group. This way we can meet each other and discuss ideas.
