"The Hobbit" An Encore (NORTHGATE)

If you have not seen The Hobbit yet, here is your chance! We will be attending the 3:10 pm showing of "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" at the Thornton Place Cinemas. This is a 24 frames per second, 2D, non-IMAX version. Here is a description of The Hobbit taken from Warner Brothers:

"The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey follows title character Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor, which was long ago conquered by the dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior Thorin Oakenshield. Although their goal lies to the East and the wastelands of the Lonely Mountain, first they must escape the goblin tunnels, where Bilbo meets the creature that will change his life forever... Gollum. Here, alone with Gollum, on the shores of an underground lake, the unassuming Bilbo Baggins not only discovers depths of guile and courage that surprise even him, he also gains possession of Gollum's "precious" ...a simple, gold ring that is tied to the fate of all Middle-earth in ways Bilbo cannot begin to know."

Here is an official trailer for the film:

The Hobbit - trailer

This film has a 65 rating at The critics feel that it is visually stunning but the pacing is slow and the story line is not up to par with the Lord of the Rings trilogy from a decade ago. Here is a link to rottentomatoes:

Meet me outside of the screening room at 2:50 PM so you have time to buy your ticket.

After the movie, around 6 PM, we will meet to decide if the group would like food and drinks afterward. The Jewel Box, in front of the cinema, have great reviews in Yelp and their crepes are amazing! :) There are many choices at the mall and around the area as well. Please meet me on the ground level inside the glass entrance doors at the conclusion of the film.
