General Porpoise is a doughnut shop by Renee Erickson, a Seattle chef who marries French cuisine with Northwest ingredients to create delicious and fresh flavours. She has a usual set of flavours, but also does seasonal and fun stuff like peanut butter and jelly and mincemeat.
She apparently also has excellent taste in coffee, featuring quality roasters from across the country:

Since they close at 3, we can decamp across the street to Métier Racing & Coffee for more coffee and their happy hour! They feature an excellent custom-roasted "Beast Blend" by Slate Coffee Roasters, as well as a rotating single-origin. They also have beer, wine and spirits, for those who want to continue the party. If you're hungry, they also have waffles and sandwiches.
Best buses are the 2 and 12, but the 9, 11, 43, 49, 60 and First Hill Streetcar are also good options.
