Labor Day is a Parking Holiday in Seattle. This makes it a good day to visit Capitol Hill. We will visit 3 coffee shops and Volunteer Park. At Volunteer Park we will stop for lunch. So pack a sandwich or two. This hike will be ~4 miles.
Estimated Path (not exact, but close enough)
1- General Porpoise - 2 different coffees and doughnuts. There isn't a lot of seating, but there is a table in the back. If the table is full we may hang out up front. GP adds a gratuity charge to each order, so don't look for the tip jar.
2- Ada's Technical Books (or Victrola or Caffe Ladro) - 15th Ave has 3 great coffee places next to each other. Ada's Technical Books, Victrola and Caffe Ladro. Pick your favorite. Then we will head to Volunteer Park.
LUNCH at Volunteer Park - Pack your lunch or you could buy something on 15th Ave.
3- Tougo Coffee - For our final stop we will head South to the Central District to visit long time favorite Tougo. They also serve 2 different espressos.
HOOD: Capitol Hill, Central District
PARKING: Street. FREE. Parking Holiday. As always, there will be more spots along Union between Madison and 19th. And the side streets too.
IF ANYTHING IS CLOSED: Sometimes coffee shops close on major holidays. Have no fear. We have tons of backup options in Capitol Hill.
