Getting bored with the usual route to West Tiger 3? Want to learn a new and more challenging route to the top? Then, this trip is for you. First, we will take the Nook trail to Talus Rocks. This trail gains a moderate 500 feet in 1 mile. We will then continue on to West Tiger 3 on a less traveled, more interesting and much steeper trail than the main route. This trail gains a whopping 1,500 ft in 1 mile and comes out on the cable line just below the summit.
We plan to get back before dark, but carry a flashlight or headlight just in case.
Distance 5.5mi round trip.
Elevation Gain 2,000ft.
From Seattle take I-90 to exit 20 (High Point) and make a right and then another quick right. Follow the row of cars. Go through the gate at the end of the paved road and follow the dirt road until you get to the main parking lot.
