Hike up Rattlesnake Ledge on a summer evening and descend under the glow of your headlamp or flashlight! We'll meet at the trailhead (near the porta-potties) and will begin the hike no later than 6:30 pm . If you miss us at the trailhead just head on up and meet us at the top.
Please remember that a hiker fell to his death from Rattlesnake Ledge last summer, so I urge everyone to exercise extreme caution while on the ledge. Please don’t go near the edges and also watch out for the deep cavern in the middle of the ledge. And please do not bring, or be under the influence of, alcohol or drugs.
Dogs are allowed on this trail and you are free to bring yours as long as he/she is under your control and care.
A note about headlamps: when you are wearing one in the dark, please remember that if you look at someone you are shining your bright light in their eyes and blinding them. Please do not shine your flashlight or headlamp in someone’s face. If you are standing around chatting with others, please turn your headlamp off. Headlamps that have a red light option which is much less blinding to others are appreciated.
