Ready for something off the beaten path? This is great exercise, and is indoors so we wont need to be concerned about rain for this one. I went square dancing for the first time last month at the Gypsy Cafe and had a blast. After telling others in our group, they said we should put together a meetup for this, so here goes!
There will be a band playing lively country dance music, and a "Caller" that can help even the rookiest of us do the dances - and if I could follow the directions, anybody can!! It was so much fun I ended up staying and dancing for 3 hours straight, and we never did the same dance twice. Also, this is not "line dancing", its the real, old timey, "swing your partner" kind of thing.
Wear whatever. If you have cowboy boots in the back of your closet, brush off the dust and bring them, or if your bold enough, wear them to the pub. Leave the spurs at home though!
Friday night, August 19th, 8:00-11:00 PM, Gypsy Cafe and Pub, 3510 Stone Way North, Seattle, 98103 (Fremont/Gas Works Park area).
Lots of easy parking along the street.
Suggested $5 donation at the door.
Its a pub, so they also have beer, wine, and food.
