Pssst..you want to go to a secret place ??

I love Dom Polski! Definitely a secret place to eat if you don't know the ins about it! My friend is Polish and she shared her favorite place to eat. We only come here for pierogis, sausage, beefsteak, and more.

Its location in the Polish community center is definitely an interesting twist. There is a $1 'temporary membership fee' for entrance. You seat yourself at one of the tables or belly up at the bar. The food is simple and from what I gather from my forays into Polish restaurants in the midwest very authentic.

When you enter the restuarant space, it feels like you walked into a rec room at a Polish family reunion. The atmosphere is very comfortable and festive. Our server was very friendly and helpful. It was great to hear a lot of the actual members (not just us hungry visitors) converse freely in Polish. They only serve dinner 6pm-11pm on friday evenings.

Everytime I've been there, the bartender known as Zivigy (sp?) is there. He's a rather grim looking gentleman who poors strong drinks from a rather limited selection of spirits, Polish beers and some lower end wines.

This place will be loud and boisterous and this place gets packed early on.

It's great for a casual night out with the friendly foodie club.

Come prepared to feast. As you will leave well fed.

There is a reason they are packed every night.

Kioni, I believe the party was scheduled for 7pm...Not sure I can make it for 6pm...When did the time change? Is it too late to cancel?

I can't make it this time, but you must try the dill pickle soup if they're serving it that day.
