What are your favorite types of places to eat?

Restaurants that really care about good-quality ingredients -- fresh, often local. Folks in the food world say that the raw ingredients used are the key to good food. Restaurants that know what they are doing in food and service -- and these can be small ethnic places as well as "fancier" places.

What 2 or 3 food items could you not live without?

Pommes frites, raw oysters, sushi.

Are you also a cook/chef

I have done a lot of cooking, and my ex is a food writer who has also created restaurant concepts and menus in SF and Chicago.

Did you post an actual photo of yourself, and include your real first name?

Interested in dining at good restaurants that use high-quality ingredients with folks who like good food and are not afraid to try new and sometimes unusual things, as well as appreciate old stand-bys.

What Catherine is saying about this Meetup Group

Very congenial group of eight people, and Keoni did a great organizing job.
