In-Home Party: Washington State Single Varietals -BLIND!

  • Feb 7, 2014 · 6:30 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

I was rearranging my wayward wine room, and see that I have some Washington state wines that I need to open. There are some '08's and '09's that are begging to be tasted; and I want some people to join me.

I've got some wines that I've held and frankly,  I need to remember, uh, why did I buy these?  So I'll prepare some flavorful meat based entree and you bring a wine to share, how about some whites?

Got any new boutique wineries you've discovered you'd like to share with us?

In order to make this a little educational, please bring :

- single varietal, any WA State AVA

-please label it with price, where you bought it, why you chose it, your name

- be prepared to research the wine a bit, vineyard the grapes comes from, winemakers notes, and terrior, what does that bring to the flavor and style

- then please wrap it in foil or in a paper bag

- I have glasses but if you have your own special glass, bring it if you like

We'll arrange by grape in groups, taste them blind, and then for fun, let's vote on the best of each group before the unveiling.

Please RSVP and mention your food share if you can.

Note: Allergies? Just FYI, one dog and 2 cats live here.

Diana's short ribs were to die for. Knowing what they cost I truly appreciated them

Great wines, all were delicious choices, thanks to the members for their thoughtful selections. In all we tasted 2 whites, 7 reds, a couple of ports finished it off. Great night , thank you!

Looking forward to this, I love blind tastings because they always challenge what I "think" I like and what I actually do like. I'll bring an appetizer of sorts, maybe lox crostini or mini quiches.

Fun! We have a wine tasting that day (Tre Nova), but if I can take off a little early from that, I'll stop by!
